The TiSO Highway provides fast, efficient and reliable control of the university gym, whilst also significantly increasing the security and enforcing the membership requirement to enter.

The 1 metre passage width ensures full DDA compatibility for wheelchair access which rightly was an essential inclusivity requirement by the university.

Educational Security

We are excited to share one of our recent projects at the University of Brighton, where we installed the latest gym membership control turnstile door solution – HighWay.

The original swing doors were removed and in their place the ACE engineering team installed the HighWay turnstile with the very minimum of disruption.

The HighWay was strategically placed and meticulously calculated to match the university gym daily foot traffic and a bespoke rising ramp was integrated to combine the corridor with the raised gym floor levels. Thus ensuring seamless access for both able bodied and wheelchair users alike, eliminating the need for a secondary DDA doors or additional emergency escape requirements.

The HighWay now controls the university gym doors just as a pair of fast acting swing doors with side panels to guide the users in through.

The HighWay uses artificial intelligence algorithms and a large number of high-precision infrared passage sensors to detect and sound the alarm when two people try to tailgate by passing through using one ID card/tag, or pass in the wrong direction or attempt to pass without authorisation.

The transparent door panels act as a deterrent against unauthorised access, making it impossible to jump over.

The HighWay is a testament to modern technology, combining smooth operation, high spec safety, with a sleek design. This variant is designed for gym membership control, however the HighWay is ideal for similar college, university or education locations as to many other settings including data centres and secure access areas.
